Preparing Today's Child for Tomorrow's World

kids holding handsAt Johnson Elementary, we believe that it is crucial to educate the whole child. Children need to be challenged academically and to think critically, but also need to be nurtured emotionally, physically, and creatively. As a result, Johnson Elementary has made a commitment to provide one hour of specials each day. All students, Kindergarten - 5th grade, receive a full hour of art, music, physical education, and technology every week. Students also receive 30 minutes of counseling and media literacy instruction each week.

All of our specialist teachers provide high quality instruction and reinforce national standards in the arts, music, physical education, and media literacy. Our specialists work hard to foster higher-level thinking, to help students make connections between the learning in the classroom and the real world, and support academic interventions and creative enrichment activities for students at Johnson Elementary.
