Preparing Today's Child for Tomorrow's World

From the Principal's Desk

Principal Welcome

Welcome to Johnson Elementary and the view from the Principal's desk.  Johnson has been serving our community since 1988.  I have been serving the Johnson community since fall of 2012.  We have a reputation for being a quality, comprehensive community school.  Our staff and community collaborated to determine the values and beliefs that underpin our community reputation.

We believe:

  • All children can learn at high levels
  • Children learn best with love and respect
  • School should be welcoming, loving, safe, and fun
  • School should foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving
  • Learning should be multi-sensory
  • Learning should be connected to life
  • Teaching and learning should address the whole child
  • Social-emotional learning is important
  • A strong foundation is important to student success
  • Educators make a difference

We value:

  • Partnering with families
  • Honoring diversity
  • Equity in education
  • Inclusionary practices
  • Fostering a love of learning
  • Nurturing the whole child
  • Student-driven instruction
  • Creating independent learners
  • Life-long leaning for all
