In one word, first grade at Johnson is an EXPERIENCE. Our first graders spend their days as pirates, wild animals, superheroes, scientists and mathematicians as they discover the world of learning around them. We believe reading is the foundation for all learning! In first grade, students will develop their reading skills and love for learning with many cross content activities and celebrations. First grade is an exciting time for learning independence as well as team work. Our first grade team thinks learning should be active, hands on, developmental, and most importantly, FUN!
