Johnson Elementary school has a part-time English Language Development teacher to meet the needs of our students who speak a different language other than English as their primary language. The services provided are either small group pull-out, co-teaching with a grade level teacher, or push-in support. The focus is on building rich academic vocabulary to ensure success in elementary school and beyond. The ELD teacher works in collaboration with the classroom teachers to ensure that students have access to the content and standards being taught in the general classroom. In addition, Johnson has a Family Liaison to make sure that home/school communication is accessible to all families. The staff at Johnson value cultural diversity and work hard to ensure a high quality education for all students.
