Preparing Today's Child for Tomorrow's World

Enrichments

Johnson staff sponsor many enrichments before and after school.

  • We have Honor Choir and Husky Choir. Both are voluntary activities and develop student gifts in music.
  • We also have Husky TV. Children develop public speaking skills through the creation of our daily newscast.
  • Math Olympiads is a staff sponsored enrichment for 4th through 5th graders.  Math Olympiads is an opportunity to apply team and individual math talent to solving problems.
  • Student council is an opportunity to develop gifts and talents in leadership and community service. We have many students participating this year.
  • Running club is a health and wellness offering that supports students in developing life-long exercise routines.
  • Baton enrichment classes are offered for 2nd and 3rd graders in the fall and 4th and 5th in the spring.
  • We also offer enrichments that are non-school sponsored and are of high quality. These include Chess Club, French Club, and Spanish Club.

As per district policy, participation in enrichments is a privilege and not a right.  Students must be in good standing with the school, adhere to all school rules, and district policies including the district code of conduct. Students must have attended school the day of the enrichment in order to participate in the enrichment. Enrichment sponsors may add other requirements for participation (audition, regular attendance, etc).
